The assay is based on real-time PCR for the detection of resistance genes associated with Carbapenem, Vancomycin, Methicillin, Colistin, ESBLs, AmpC β-lactamase, Trimethoprim/Sulfamethoxazole (SXT), and PMQR resistance.

The kit consists of five reaction tubes, each targeting a specific group of resistance genes using fluorescent probes across FAM, HEX, Texas Red, and Cy5 channels. Tube 5 includes an internal control to validate assay performance.
