M.Pox(VZV)-Q Real-Time PCR Kit

Qualitative Detection of Varicella-Zoster Virus & Monkeypox Virus DNA

M.Pox(VZV)-Q Real-Time PCR Kit is an In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) Molecular Diagnostic test based on the Real-Time PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) technique for the Qualitative detection of Varicella Zoster Virus specific DNA in clinical samples. The test is also capable of identifying and detecting Monkeypox virus from Varicella-Zoster Virus (VZV).

Product Overview

M. Pox (VZV) -Q Real-Time PCR Kit is the qualitative detection kit which adopts advanced real-time PCR technology for the detection of Varicella-Zoster Virus (VZV) and Monkeypox virus DNA from human clinical samples such as lesion surface and lesion crusts. The kit is recommended for use with the OnePCR Ultra-Fast POC Rapid RT-PCR System for the automation of the DNA extraction and Real-Time PCR processes.

This kit enables the simultaneous detection of:

  • Monkeypox virus Clade I specific DNA
  • Monkeypox virus Clade II specific DNA
  • Varicella-Zoster virus (VZV) specific DNA
  • Internal Control (RNaseP gene) for assay validation and quality control of the testing process.

The kit is a single-tube assay which employs specifically designed primers and hybridization probes for the simultaneous target-specific detection of Monkeypox virus Clade I, Monkeypox virus Clade II and Varicella-Zoster Virus specific genes.

VZV

Why VZV & Monkeypox Testing Matters

Mpox (previously referred to as Monkeypox) is caused by the Monkeypox virus. The virus is an enveloped double-stranded DNA virus of the Orthopoxvirus genus in the family Poxviridae. Monkeypox is a zoonotic viral disease that is transmitted from animals to humans and can also be transmitted from human to human, causing a rash on the skin.

Herpes Zoster is a disease caused by the Varicella Zoster Virus which is very contagious; therefore, the RT-PCR testing at an early stage is of great significance. Using the M.Pox (VZV) -Q Real-TimePCR Kit helps laboratories:

Targets Detected

Qualitative Targets
  • Monkeypox virus Clade I DNA
  • Monkeypox virus Clade II DNA
  • Varicella-Zoster Virus (VZV) DNA
Internal Control
  • Internal Control (IC)
RNaseP gene, for successful DNA extraction, integrity of the sample and assay, and reliable amplification for each sample.

Applications

The M. Pox (VZV) -Q Real-Time PCR Kit is suitable for use in clinical molecular labs for:

M. hominis Real-Time PCR Kit
  • Molecular detection and differentiation of VZV and Monkeypox virus infections
