How the Assay Works

The MCP-Q Kit is designed for the detection of nucleic acids extracted from pathogens causing Meningitis in human samples utilizing Real-Time PCR. This multiplex kit is divided into four tubes, each containing a ready mix with Taq DNA Polymerase, PCR buffer, dNTP mix, primers, and probes specific to various pathogens, with distinct fluorescent dyes for easy identification during the Real-Time PCR process. Ready Mix 1 contains probes for Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (FAM), Herpes Simplex Virus 2 (Cy5), Varicella-Zoster Virus (HEX), and Exogenous Internal Control (Texas Red). Ready Mix 2 contains probes for Human Herpesvirus 6 (FAM), Parvovirus B19 (HEX), Human Herpesvirus 7 (Cy5), and Exogenous Internal Control (Texas Red). Ready Mix 3 contains probes for Enterovirus (FAM), Parechovirus (HEX), and Exogenous Internal Control (Texas Red). Ready Mix 4 contains probes for Haemophilus influenzae (FAM), Neisseria meningitidis (HEX), Streptococcus pneumoniae (Texas Red), and Exogenous Internal Control (Cy5).
