Overview

The SpiNXT Gel Extraction Kit is based on silica membrane spin column technology. Excised agarose gel slices or PCR products are treated with a chaotropic salt containing buffer that dissolves agarose and releases DNA fragments. Under these conditions, DNA selectively binds to the silica membrane within the spin column. Impurities such as agarose residues, salts, enzymes, dyes, and reaction by-products are efficiently removed through optimized wash steps. Purified DNA is finally eluted using a low-salt buffer, resulting in highly pure DNA suitable for sensitive downstream applications. The optimized chemistry ensures high recovery, excellent purity, and consistent performance across a wide range of DNA fragment sizes.
